ALEXANDRIA METODIST CHURCH CAR SHOW 2007
Alexandria Alabama
This show is an annual event - this was the 3rd I think. This wonderful little Church sponsors the show which is surely different than other shows we attend. Why is is so different you ask?
- They do not sponsor the show to make money (now that's surely different) but to foster a community spirit! Not only do they not make money....it costs them to sponsor the show.
- EVERYONE (not just car owners) eats free. It must take hours to prepare for the show since they serve hot dogs, chili, nachos and cheese, chips, brownies, cake and drinks (great lemonade too)....all you care to eat.
- This show was during the Alabama/Tenn. game so they thoughtfully provided a TV (inside) for viewing.
- There was also a quilt display....and again, nothing was for sale!
- The show was from 1:00 - 4:00 (not an all day event ending an hour later than scheduled to give out awards)
There was approximately 30 -35 cars on display with Trophies awarded throughout the show. BSR trophy winners were:
Gary & Wanda (Wanda drove the little red truck!!), Leon, Capone (Ladies choice..they loved the truck!) and Pastors choice was the Ramsey 41 Ford. Ronnie Nasworthy won People's Choice award.
